...i'm sipping mine right now.

Naaah...seriously there aren't really any lemons, life is in fact pretty good. 'Life' has just taken me away from my blog over the last several weeks. I had been working on a  few outside projects at the time of my last post and then I started a new job, so I wasn't able to blog and a week had passed, then like BOOOM!!!

The laptop died on me, so right now I am unable to complete the posts that I have already made a start on.

So I thought i'd take this opportunity [whilst i'm sneekily using the siblings laptop] to thank you beautiful souls for STILL hanging in there with me!! I apologise profusely for the SILENCE its not intentional, as soon as I can get this laptop fixed, Marked for Glamour will start picking up the pace again!

Side note:
I hope that my Trin-Bago viewers took full ADVANTAGE of the Savannah at Carnival this week - I had planned on doing my first FOTD dedicated to Trinidad's Carnival, but nevermind there are plenty more carnivals to come worldwide so i'll make it happen, but right now i'm WOTLESS! (",)

On a serious note:
I'd also like to take this time to send my love and prayers to the people of Japan [I hope that my Japanese Glam Squad and loved ones are all safe and well] in the recent events of this week, my thoughts are with you, may God be your comfort and strength at this sad time.

Well until the laptop saga ends....

Stay Glam!

Embracing My Natural Veil [Hair]

Me as a child with my natural hair; 4 years of age.

Today I thought i'd share with you a little [well kinda lil] bit about my  'natural hair' journey - third time on record.

On Saturday 10th October 2009, I sat in a Salon staring at the mirror contemplating what to do with my hair. I was in the process of trying to grow my hair out of a cropped Rihanna-esque hair style. But the condition of my hair of late was getting to me, I had that one problem area that just had a mind of its own #yeahthat. This one area had been growing fine and then *poof* disappeared like Delilah herself had come like a 'thief in the night' and done the honors of shaving it off! #mysamsonmoment dramatic, oui! o_O My hairdresser was as baffled as I was at why this had happened and suggested that perhaps it may have been caused by some sort of trauma [I had an op, mind you that was late 07 when that took place - trauma??] or medication that I was on at the time that may have contributed to this mysterious hair breakage, and *cough* dryyyyness.

Monica: Her make up is always flawless - simply beautiful!

Upon scrolling down the timeline, I came across a tweet from singer Monica which read "Thanks Team Monica 4 the support, just closed the deal for my nail polish line. It's an extension of Orly". The tweet was accompanied by the photo below of some dark hued nail polishes and nail products.Whether these are the said polishes hasn't been confirmed.

Say Au Revoir To Dull Skin

If that face of yours is in need of  a little pick me up, look no further! L'Occitane recently launched the Ultra Rich Face Scrub with Shea Butter and i'm telling youuuu it is D-----vine!! The scrub has been specially formulated for those with dry skin in mind, however I have combo/oily skin and haven't found using it a problem. It has a creamy texture with tiny grains of grounded nutshells that when massaged on to dry or damp skin, gently sloths off that blah looking reflection of yourself and reveals a bright luminous face and skin soft to the touch! I will  definitely be purchasing this once i'm done with my free samples! *hehe*

RRP: £16.00/100ml

Sleek MakeUP: Molten Metal

What Sleek Says:  introducing Molten Metal, a new cream eye shadow available in a set with two colours - Pewter and Gold. As with all Sleek MakeUP colour products, Molten Metal is highly pigmented and designed to show up on all skin tones. The long lasting cream can be used on the cheek bones, the lips and also as a highlighter. Molten Metal, priced at £6.99, is long-lasting and stays in place without creasing. Sleek MakeUP’s Molten Metal launches on 5 January 2011 in Superdrug stores nationwide as well as on
So last week whilst I was browsing the cosmetics aisle in Superdrugs [as ya do], I came across the display for Molten Metal. Now this was meant to have launched on the 5th of January, however on the 11th [the day I was in store] the actual product had yet to arrive *side eye*. What was present were the testers though, so I had a play with those and snapped a swatch [when I got home] of them for you all to see!

Top-Bottom: Gold and Pewter

They were indeed quite pigmented as stated by Sleek and very smooth in texture. They reminded me of my beloved Iman Luxury Face Palette: Suede that I used to have. Whether Molten Metal's would make a nice base for eyeshadows remains to be seen [I assume so] mind you, I only swatched on the back of my hand and it did stay put for a while.

With similar products available on the beauty market at a far heftier price, I do believe that these would have flown off the shelves in record time had Sleek released these precious metals during the holiday season. However if you are girl who loves to shimmer all year round, do not miss out on this product!!

What are your thoughts on cream shadows? Do you own Molten Metal yet? Let me know! (",)

MAC Stylishly Yours: Style Curve

So I finally received Style Curve this week, one of the four lipstick shades currently available at as a limited edition from the MAC Stylishly Yours collection that was releasedhere in the UK last week. Described by MAC as a "bright violet", Style Curve has been likened to Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass from last years MAC and Disney collaboration Venomous Villains with its cremesheen finish giving an added shine when applied.

No Flash: (l-r) Style Curve, Violetta, Style Curve, Show Orchid

Personally, I believe that Style Ciurve gives off a playful, sheer colour that leans towards a pinkier tone rather than violet. However to look at Style Curve and the infamous PRO colour Violetta side by side you would think you were seeing double. I can say that after having a play around with Style Curve there is a slight difference between the two when actually worn. Style Curve is literally the 'play it safe' version of the bold looking Violetta.

Final thoughts: If you already have Violetta or even Show Orchid, save your money! See swatches below.

Indoors with flash: (l-r) MAC Show Orchid, Style Curve, Violetta

Outdoor Lighting - no flash: (l-r) MAC Show Orchid, Style Curve, Violetta

Did you purchase anything from Stylishly Yours? What do you think of Style Curve-Hit or Miss?

Rihanna: The Scent Of A Reb'l Fleur

Image from recently shot ad campaign.

Following in the footsteps of her BFF Katy Perry who recently released her fragrance 'Purr', Bajan beauty Rihanna is set to unveil her first fragrance Reb'l Fleur [translation: Rebel Flower] next month.

In a recent interview with People magazine, she explained the meaning behind the name Reb'l Flower saying: 'My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower.' Rihanna also said that it took some time to create the scent that she wanted.

Was there a typo? Rihanna, says there was no mistake in the spelling when she got this tattoo in 2010.

'Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own. 'But I wanted…something that said "Rihanna was here". Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.'

The new fragrance will be available in stores at the beginning of February and will be sold for $49 for a 1.7oz bottle in the US. UK price to be announced soon.

MAC Peacocky Collection

The highly anticpated Peacocky collection will be coming to a MAC store/counter near you soon!

Already proving popular overseas where Peacocky has already launched; the collection is pretty huge, introducing not one but two new products from MAC that are currently receiving rave reviews.

First up are the showstopping Mega Metal Eyeshadows, which consists of 15 kaleidoscope shades. Not to be mistaken for MAC's Metal-X Cream Shadows, oh nooo. These precious metals are long-wearing metallic powdered eyeshadows, no cream here, just a smooth buttery cream-like feel when applied. Mega Metal's are said to give a light-reflective, intense metallic finish that looks amazing on the skin. It has been described as a medium-buildable coverage that won't fade or crease. The formula contains Vitamins A & E, antioxidants that help condition the delicate eye area.
